I am telling Miss Angie’s story at a Good News Club today in Ohio. My life has been challenged by her love and faithfulness to her God and her selfless life. Her legacy continues. To God be the glory. Pray with me that God will touch children to give their lives to God for missionary service.

Thank you for sharing this. I am a student of Grace Brethren Navajo Mission. Ms. Angie Garber was there as long as I could remember after I started school as a Kindergarten. I have seen her unconditional love for us and our families and the Community of Counselor , NM. I remember her making home visits to my home and ministered with my parents. She had a little blue Dotson truck with a camper. You see it coming down the road and you knew it was her. It was heart breaking when she had to return to her family. I was a student for 11 years and my two oldest 3 oldest Sons attended school until it was shut down. I was heart broken for the school shutting down. It was my second home. It was a blessing to have the people who came through the years and dedicated their lives to teach us the word of God and academically. I had the opportunity to live there for 2 years many years after it closed down and it help me finally accept it. Thank for letting me share my story.

Miss Angie Garber began teaching me how to read Navajo when I was a child at Grace Brethren Navajo Mission and Boarding School decades ago. I never lost my desire to learn to read and write in my (Navajo) language. Today, I am starting my 20th year as a Navajo Language & Culture teacher. I know it was a very long time ago, but I credit her for awakening the beginning of my life’s work. I have and shall always remember her as a self-less and generous person.. She is one of the kindest people I have ever known.

In reply to Susan Bradley. Hi Susan, Just wanted to see if you could tell me more about Angie Garber. I will be sharing Angie Garber's life story with our Good News Club here in El Dorado, Ks. this week. Is there anything that you can share with me or photos that I could show to our kids. I always like to do some research to share with our kids, and if there is a book I could look for at our library or purchase at a used book store in Wichita, Ks., it makes it even more exciting to the kids. Looking forward to hearing from you.

We taught Angie’s life story in our Good News Club. We were able to have one of her fellow missionaries share about her time working with Angie and the Navajo. We also had the opportunity to tell the children at a local church that Angie’s twin sister Alice was married to one of tha pastor’s at their church many years ago and Angie had visited there several times.

I knew here from the year I spent teaching at the Grace Brethren Navajo Mission. I was there in my early 20’s as a short term missionary. Angie Garber was a fantastic woman of God who unconditionally loved people! It was great to see the love of Christ in action with great humility and joy!
