However, I think Dr. Heller’s point is that if a person can point to a specific date when he trusted Christ then he can likely have some certainty of a person’s true relationship with Christ. Otherwise, if the date is uncertain, perhaps the confidence of that relationship is uncertain. Whatever the case, let’s rejoice in people who make decisions for Christ as a result of such an approach!(It’s an approach that is far better than the one I’m not using!)

Doesn’t that imply dependence or trust in a work? “I did this on this day, therefore, it’s all good.” Do you think God is more interested in a calendar date than the state of a person’s heart this very moment? Who cares about March 3rd, 1977? What about right now?
