North Shore Bible Church (NSBC) located in Essex, Mass., in a community on the north shore of Boston known as Cape Ann, is seeking a dedicated Lead Pastor or an Associate Pastor with aspirations to become a Lead Pastor. The man we are looking for will be crucial in delivering expository preaching and teaching the full counsel of God’s Word. The role also involves shepherding our church family with patience and compassion, providing biblical counseling, and engaging in intentional discipleship. NSBC will celebrate its 25th anniversary in April of 2025.
Pastor Jared Wilson in an article entitled, “Why New England is the New American Missional Frontier wrote: “If there is an unreached people group in the United States, it is New Englanders.” A 2009 Gallup poll placed the six states of New England in the top ten least religious states in the nation.”
North American Missions of the Southern Baptist Convention referred to New England as an unreached people group. Less than 4% of the population of New England professes to be believers in Jesus Christ.
Qualification for the ideal candidate:
– Be a baptized, born-again disciple of Jesus Christ with a clear call and dedication to pastoral ministry and have the heart of a Shepherd.
– Meet the spiritual, personal, and character qualifications of an Elder found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9 and exhibit the fruit of the
Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22.
– Be a man who believes in the power of prayer, has a strong personal prayer and devotional life, and who is pursuing righteousness and a
godly life.
– Be a humble collaborative team player, willing and able to work in the context of an elder led congregation.
– Charis Fellowship pastor preferred
– Could be from outside the Charis Fellowship but in agreement with the Charis Fellowship statement of faith
– Some Bible training (formal/informal)
– Ministry/Mission mindset
– Knows how to engage younger people in their culture
