Charles Covington taught most of the systematic theology classes I took at Grace Bible Institute (GBI). I graduated from GBI in 1992. He was a powerful teacher and because of him I learned to be very precise in my studies and teaching. When Charles spoke, I listened. I still use his notes from time to time. He not only has many first generation mentee's around the world, he has many second, third and forth generation leaders around the world. His influence will continue to generations to come. I thank God for have Charles in my life as a teacher for many years!

Ed Waken

Tim,
Thanks for your prayers. My mother is flying home from Seattle this afternoon, and returning without her beloved will be "the most difficult part of the journey", as she told me just a few minutes ago. Your support is appreciated.

As to the cruise, my folks were with a group from Biola University on the ms Westerdam, appoaching Juneau early on July 5, when Dad had his heart attack. He was diabetic, so his heart attack was not diagnosed until he was Medivaced to Seattle. He was in a coma the entire time, and thus did not suffer.

Both his earthly and spiritural families were extremely blessed by the years the Lord gave us under the headship and leadership of this great, Godly man.

We rejoice that he in now with his Savior.

Our prayers are with Pastor Charles Covington's family as he has gone home to glory with our gracious God and Father.

I can't help but wonder if we were on the same cruise with 340 friends of Ligonier Ministries, spending the entire week studying the "Holiness of God"?

Regardless, I was praying when a person was removed from our ship with my 22 year old son, that the patient would be peaceful with his relationship to our heavenly Father.

Regardless, this really is a small world, and may God bless the remaining family of Pastor Covington.
