Report to: Lead Pastor
Supervises: Kids Zone, Impact, and Worship Team Members
Employment Status: Full-time position
40 hours per week, which includes 3 hours of time on Sunday morning.
Salary: $35,000 – $40,000/year with additional salary for Kids Zone Camp, Connect Retreat and Momentum.
Vacation and sick days are per the Non-Pastoral Personnel Policy.
Position Summary: To oversee and be personally involved in the Kids Zone, Impact, and Worship Ministries as outlined below. To connect kids, parents, and volunteers to Grace Church and help them take their next step on their journey with Jesus.
Responsibilities:
General:
1. Agree to the Personnel Policy of Grace Church.
2. Maintain an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus.
3. Oversee necessary administration, as well as all budgetary issues ensuring sound stewardship of resources.
4. Recruit, screen (including background checks) and train staff volunteers.
Impact Students (grades 6-12):
5. Responsible for Impact Student Ministry programming.
6. Oversee and facilitate student retreats including Momentum, Connect, and Jr. High Camp.
7. Plan and execute regular events designed to attract friends of our current students.
8. Develop relationships with teens, parents, and Youth Staff, through individual and group contact, mail, email, phone, social media, and community.
Kids Zone Next (grades 3-5):
9. Assemble Power Point and print curriculum and devotionals for Kids Zone Worship and Next.
10. Develop a Kids Zone Camp (VBS) or an event that is designed to reach kids in our community over the summer.
11. Schedule all Kids Zone Team Members to effectively serve and find substitutes when necessary.
Worship Leader:
12. Serve as lead worshiper in all worship services and strive to have an engaging stage presence.
13. Select and organize songs for each Sunday morning.
14. Update Worship Tools Online each week by Tuesday with songs. Schedule Praise Team members and Media Room volunteers for the upcoming Sunday. Develop Worship slides using Worship Tools.
15. Organize a weekly practice so that the team is prepared for Sunday in an excellent manner and lead a final run through of the songs with the band before service each Sunday.
Position Requirements:
1. Have experience in leading Student and Children’s ministry and Worship a plus.
2. College education is a plus.
3. Skills needed:
a. Able to develop, encourage and train teams.
b. Solid administrative skills
c. Ability to hold confidences with integrity.
d. Able to play the guitar or piano, sing well, and lead a group of people in worship through music.
e. Basic knowledge of a media room and sound board.
4. Attitudes needed:
a. Teachable
b. A team player willing to help in other areas as needed
c. Able to implement directives that are given to you by the Lead Pastor
d. A desire to work hard and strive for excellence
e. Desire to finish what is started, bringing tasks to completion
