Pastor of Worship and Youth at Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church (Winchester, Va.)

Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church (Winchester, Virginia) is looking for a man to help propel our ministry to the next level through Gospel-saturated and biblically-sound worship and children’s ministry leadership. This full-time position (app. 40 hours/week) is open to both short-term (i.e., pastoral residency) or long-term candidates.

Our congregation of approximately one hundred people has historically used the classic hymns of the faith, as well as many of the standard gospel songs of the late-nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Newer songs introduced in the past couple of years have been written or popularized by artists such as Sovereign Grace Music, the Gettys, City Alight, Matt Papa, Matt Boswell, and Matt Merker, and we anticipate continuing in that vein.

While our children’s ministry has grown over the past several years, we believe that a dedicated leader will help enhance and grow this aspect of ministry for years to come. Approximately twenty children call Blue Ridge their home church. Even still, our Vacation Bible School consistently draws an additional fifty children from the community!

The responsibilities for this position would include:
• Planning and leading the musical expressions of worship on Sunday mornings
• Coordinating special services throughout the year (e.g., Good Friday, Easter, Christmas Sunday, Christmas Eve, as well as evening Threefold Communion services)
• Overseeing the children’s ministries, including developing and training leaders, as well as providing primary oversight over Vacation Bible School
• Coordinating with the pastor on a regular basis

With those responsibilities, we would anticipate the man would have the following qualifications:
• Knowledge of the Word of God that is both solid and growing
• Demonstration of godly maturity
• Member of Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church (i.e., commitment to this local body alone)
• Possess strong vocal ability
• Ability to lead proficiently from the piano and/or guitar
• Passion for children’s discipleship
• Ability to effectively communicate the Word of God to children and youth
• An undergraduate degree in a related field, or experience/training similar to an undergraduate degree

Additional skills that would be helpful and utilized:
• Knowledge of ProPresenter and/or streaming equipment
• Opportunities to preach can be made available to those who have the ability and desire

Interested applicants or those with questions should contact Pastor Davey at Next steps will include reviewing a résumé with a cover letter, including a brief philosophy of ministry.

While this listing describes our ideal candidate, we are open to other arrangements depending upon gifting and other life circumstances. See more info here.
