Pastoral Resident at Grace Community Church – Northwood Campus (Northwood, Ohio)

Grace Community Church Mission Statement: GCC exists to challenge unbelievers to DISCOVER truth, DECIDE on Jesus, DEMONSTRATE change in their lives and DEPLOY to serve in our church and share the Gospel with others.

Northwood Pastoral Resident Purpose: Under the leadership of the campus pastor help the Northwood Campus church family accomplish the mission of GCC through teaching, training, planning, and developing relationships with our youth, their families and young adults.

Qualifications: The Pastoral Resident must be a man who has an intimate, growing relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is one who faithfully lives out his God-given responsibility in his home and maintains a reputation in the community that would not diminish the work of Jesus Christ or hinder the ministry of GCC. He should also have training and/or experience in pastoral ministry, biblical studies, or theology. At least a bachelor’s degree and internship are desired but not mandatory depending on the individual’s biblical knowledge, ability, and experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Teaching- teach at the weekly Fuse ministry meeting, Sundays at 5 p.m. (coordinate with the other campus’ youth guys; the music director/resident provides music for this ministry), develop and teach at least a monthly Bible study for young adults, fill in for the campus pastor at Wednesday night Bible study and Sunday mornings as needed, assist the campus pastor in teaching the Core Classes.

2. Coordinate events for Fuse Student Ministry and Young Adults Ministry to foster relationship building and a place for these individuals to connect.

3. Meet weekly with the campus pastor and music director to go over Sunday morning services responsibilities.

4. Meet weekly with all GCC campuses staff.

5. Assist on the planning team for the yearly Kalahari Retreat that reaches nearly 3000 students each January.

6. Assist campus pastor in researching ideas and material for sermon series for Sunday messages.

7. Assist the campus pastor in the care of the church family through phone calls and house/hospital visits as needed.

8. Prayer/Care Ministry- commit to pray for a designated number of men in our church and stay in contact with them especially if they have not attended for more than 2 weeks.

9. Read all ministry related books assigned by the campus pastor and submit a weekly chapter summary to be discussed with the campus pastor.

10. Meet monthly with the campus pastor to work through the Men’s Leadership Group material. MLG is a ministry for GP men to give them an overview of doctrine, theology, and ministry philosophy.

11. Micro-Groups- facilitate a micro-group; a men’s discipleship group of 2-3 newer believers.

12. Participate in all church events, activities, and community outreach events.

13. Fulfill all other responsibilities given by the Campus Pastor or Senior Pastor.
