Simi Valley Teams Headed to State Playoffs

11 area teams headed to state playoffs

Seven county teams qualify for the CIF-State basketball tournament, including the Oak Park boys and Ventura girls. After competing in the CIF-SS Open Division playoffs, both programs have been placed in Division 1 in the 16-team Southern division.

Also in the Southern bracket are section runner-ups Oxnard boys and Camarillo and Grace Brethren girls. … The first-round matchups for the girls: Ventura is the No. 3 seed in Division 1 and will play host to No. 14 Clovis; Camarillo is seeded No. 2 in Division III and is home vs. Golden Valley; and Grace Brethren is No. 6 in Division V and will host No. 11 Carruthers.

Earning soccer berths in the SoCal Regional tournament are the Hueneme boys and the Grace Brethren girls.

The Grace Brethren girls are seeded No. 2 in Division V and will host No. 7 Rosamond beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Cal Lutheran. The Hueneme boys are seeded No. 3 in Division II and will host L.A. City section qualifier and No. 6 Fremont beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ventura College.
