Lead Pastor at Grace Church Waldorf (Waldorf, Md.)

Grace Church Waldorf (hereafter, GCW) is prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor who will play a key and instrumental role in teaching and expository preaching the whole counsel of God's Word, shepherding the church family at GCW, and developing and implementing a strategic vision with the elders for the future of the church. His responsibilities will also include patient nurturing, compassionate and nouthetic counseling, and intentional discipling.
The ideal candidate will:

- Have a Master's degree level of education.
- A minimum of 5 years vocational ministry experience is preferred.

ABOUT GRACE CHURCH
Originally planted in 1979, GCW has been a flagship church for the Grace Brethren movement, now the Charis Fellowship, in the D.C. Metro area for over 40 years. The church attendance is about 200 in weekly worship.
The church building, built in 1984 and renovated in 2018, sits on a 17 acre property. A primary ministry of the church is its pre-K-8th grade ACSI/MSA accredited school, with current enrollment of 225 students.

About Findlay, OH
Findlay, population 41,000, is in Hancock County, United States, 45 miles south of Toledo and about 90 miles east of Fort Wayne, IN. The city is predominantly caucasian with a median age of 37 years old.
5.5% of the population is foreign born. Median household income is approximately $50,000 per year. Major employers in Findlay include Marathon Oil, Whirlpool and Cooper Tire.
The Grace Brethren Church currently has a transition elder board in place for the duration of the replant. One of the three elders is a current member, one is a pastor from another Charis Fellowship church in the area, the third is the son of long-time members who attends the church once per month.
Average weekly attendance is roughly 12 persons. The church facility is fully owned with no current debt.

VISION AND MISSION OF COMMUNITY OF HOPE CHURCH
Community of Hope exists to help lost, broken, wounded people find hope and healing in Jesus. Our vision is to equip and empower God’s people to use their gifts and resources to fulfill the Great Commission in northern Indiana. We are looking for the right candidate to help us fulfill our calling to plant a church in the growing city of Fort Wayne, Indiana within the next 3 years.
THE PROCESS OF PLANTING A CHURCH IN FORT WAYNE
The candidate will complete a four-step process:
1) SUPPORT RAISING--The candidate will raise one year of personal financial support to live in Fort Wayne and serve on staff of Community of Hope as a Church Planting Resident.
2) RESIDENCY—The candidate will serve on staff at Community of Hope in Columbia City (about 30 minutes away) for 12 months while focusing on developing pastoral skills, receiving coaching, building a relational network in Fort Wayne, and gathering a launch team from Community of Hope.
3) TRANSITION TO LAUNCH—Once necessary steps for leading a soft launch are completed, the candidate begins channeling time, energy, and resources toward a public church service.
4) PASTORING A NEW CHURCH PLANT—Within months, the new local church becomes an autonomous, yet interdependent local church working within the Charis Fellowship of Churches looking to fulfill the Great Commission and embedding a church planting DNA so as to reproduce the process as a sending church within five years.
YOUR TEAM
· This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor of Community of Hope for the duration of the Residency.
· This position is part of the staff team of Community of Hope, but also assumes the flexibility needed to gather people to join the plant and grow a network of teammates.
· This position utilizes Assist Church Expansion as the mediatory conduit moving from support raising, to Residency, to Church Planter.
GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS
· This candidate is called by God and uniquely gifted to plant a church in Fort Wayne, IN with the resources supplied by Community of Hope and AssistCX.
· This candidate is confident enough to pioneer a new church, but also relies on a team and the experience of others who speak into his life and ministry.
· The church plant becomes part of the Charis Fellowship of Churches and reproduces itself again alongside Community of Hope within five years.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
We believe that a church planter is a unique kind of calling from God, while at the same time acknowledge that God ultimately causes the growth of His Church (1 Cor. 3:6). This said, there are some tangible indicators which help assess the likelihood of success down the road. We are looking for the following indicators to see developed along the path toward planting a church:
· A pioneer spirit and willingness to sacrifice many desirables to see this work come to completion.
· A team disposition that receives coaching from experienced practitioners, as well as a desire to equip and empower others to see this work reach its full potential.
· An attractive disposition that gathers people toward a vision received from God, as well as perseverance to lead through difficult seasons and frequent setbacks.
· A shepherd’s heart that sees people as often “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (Matt. 9:36) rather than as cogs in a machine.
· A teachable spirit willing to grow daily in personal discipleship, leadership, vision casting, and shepherding people toward maturity in Christ.
· A “holy discontent” which helps move people toward becoming healthy disciples who are vibrant contributors to the body of Christ.

This position requires a thorough assessment process and interview process, as well as ongoing coaching and skill acquisition, all intended to make sure there is a great chance for success for the Church Planter and the church plant.
YOUR COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Salary:
· First Year Salary: You raise your own salary to live in Fort Wayne.
· Second and Third Year Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000 depending on experience and family size.
Retirement:
· Community of Hope puts 10% of your annual gross salary into a retirement account for you.
Paid Time Away:
· You would receive 9 holidays off a year, to be used on the holiday or as floating holidays throughout the year. You would also receive 10 paid vacation days a year (2 weeks). Ten sick days a year are provided, which can be rolled over and used as short-term disability if ever needed.

Pike is located in a semi rural area located between Johnstown and Altoona PA, and only 50+ miles to Pittsburgh. The church property includes the Church, A Christian School with its own building, and Family Center with a full size gymnasium. The church also owns a campground of 8 acres with a small camp building, a large pavilion with a fireplace, and a garage. All of the properties are debt free. Currently we have Sunday School at 9:30 to 10:15am. Morning Worship 10:30 to 11:30am. We have AWANA on Wednesday 6:30 to 8:00pm. Teens Wednesday 6:30 to 8:00pm. A Men's Bible Study Mondays 7:00 to 8:00pm. We are a serving church involved with our local food pantry. We have many outreach programs. A local community yard sale in our gym, a free Thanksgiving dinner in our gym, a basketball camp, and an Outdoor Extravanganza (3D archery shoot) and a summer shooting program (BB guns, archery, and 22's) for 1st through 6th graders at our campground. We also have an extensive Bible School and 2 Cantatas. All of these are done thru volunteers in our church. Our men also take care of most projects around our church and some outside the church volunteer jobs.

About the Church
New Beginnings’ ministry history dates back to the late 1960’s in Myerstown. As a member of the Charis Fellowship of Churches, New Beginnings places high value on the participation in and commitment to relationships with other Fellowship churches.
The church has declined in attendance over the past ten years from approximately 400 in weekly attendance to an average of 90 weekly worshippers.
In accordance with its membership in the Charis Fellowship, New Beginnings holds to a pre-millennial, dispensational view of scripture. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the doctrine of election, but not Lordship salvation.

The resident will raise the entirety of the funds needed for them to complete the 12- month residency program. GTWY Church will commit to supporting them financially and through other resources over the following three years of the newly planted church. About the Church
Hope Bible Church’s ministry history dates back to the 1910’s in the Hollins area of Roanoke.

- Has previous ministry experience and is hungry to build a “successful” youth ministry beyond the typical numbers game
- Is a servant leader who is willing to help when they see a need.
