A Good Problem – No Room
Iglesia La Esperanza in Valrico, Fla., has seen great growth, both in the knowledge of the gospel and in number, according to Jesus Munoz, church planter. Many people are accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. There is only one problem-one that has its own set of challenges. They have run out of space at their current Sunday service location, having reached the capacity of the room they rent.
They are currently looking to rent or purchase another facility where they can gather and are praising God for how He has continued to work with each opportunity they’ve been presented.
Marking an Anniversary
Mike and Naomi Silliman moved to southern Chester County, Pa. in 2006 to plant Elk Creek Church in West Grove, Pa. The congregation recently marked its first anniversary since their launch.
“We have seen people cross the line of faith and be baptized,” says Silliman. “We have seen marriages salvaged. We have seen bench warmers become starters and active ministry contributors. We have seen people take off the ‘bubble wrap’ and allow God to penetrate their heart and begin to take risks for God. We have seen God do so much, but realize that He wants to do so much more in and through us.”
Resolution Honors Mission
Village Grace Mission Center, a Grace Brethren Cleveland, Ohio-based ministry founded and directed by Richard and Reida Bartley, was honored this past Veterans Day with a resolution of appreciation from the City of Cleveland. The resolution was presented during a Village praise and worship service by Slavic Village councilman Tony Brancatelli.
The resolution notes that the Center “fulfills its mission through the provision of children’s programs and resources designed to help children, youth, and their families achieve stability and self-sufficiency.” Particularly noted is the Christmas Gift Treasure Box Program the mission conducts each year for needy children in the inner city of Cleveland to receive toys and school supplies through area churches and schools. Since the program’s inception, the resolution notes, more than a half-million dollars in donations, gifts, and toys have been given.
