MetroGrace Gathering Begins Tonight

Jan 16, 2015

MetroGracelogoParticipants in the MetroGrace Gathering in Philadelphia, Pa., will have an opportunity to explore an urban medical ministry (see feature photo), campus outreaches, ministries to the homeless, and urban church plants during the weekend, which begins night (Friday) and concludes Sunday afternoon.
The Gathering is designed to expose young adults, who have an interest in urban ministry, to some things that God is doing in Philadelphia and is sponsored by MetroGrace, a Grace Brethren urban church planting ministry.

According to Jim Brown, executive director, the MetroGrace Gathering is a retreat designed to discover, develop, and encourage urban workers. “This weekend participants will stay at a retreat center in Northeast Philadelphia and learn about urban ministries. They’ll discover opportunities for campus ministry with the Coalition for Christian Outreach, they’ll visit the Whosoever Gospel Mission to gain understanding about ministry to the homeless and they’ll tour Esperanza, an urban treatment facility that provides Christ-centered medical care in the Latino community. Participants will worship with the urban churches established by MetroGrace.”

He ends with a call to pray: “Please ask the Lord to use this weekend for His glory, helping some to respond to His call!”
