Dr. Darrell Johnson, chair of the sport management department at Grace College, took first place in the Jones/Snead flight at the Indianapolis Tour Championship this past weekend.
The Championship was a two day event held at The Fort Golf Club in Indianapolis. The Tournament is part of the Golf Channel / NBC Sports Amateur Tour, which is the largest amateur golf tour in North America.
Darrell and his son, Scott, have competed in the summer long tour playing tournaments in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. They both qualified for the GC AM Tour National Championship, a four-day tournament held at the PGA West Golf Complex in La Quinta, Calif.
