Mark Lancaster has been named the director of the Brethren Heritage Center, Brookville, Ohio. His hiring is a milestone in the 15-year history of the organization when the need for a salaried director to oversee the all-volunteer staff was recognized. He begins his new role on July 1.
Mark brings more than 40 years of experience in working with non-profit organizations, including Heifer International and American Friends Service Committee. One of his latest projects as executive director of institutional advancement at Bethany Seminary has been working as a liaison between the Seminary and Ekklesiyar Yan’ Uwa a Nigeria (EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria), helping to develop a program to train EYN leadership. Mark will continue to work part-time with Bethany as he starts working part-time with BHC.
Some of the activities that Mark will be leading for the BHC include strategic planning, outreach, fundraising, donor relations, supervision of volunteer staff, and to promote the archives regionally, nationally and internationally.
The Brethren Heritage Center is a research and educational facility focusing on the history and genealogy of The Brethren Church, Church of the Brethren, Conservative Grace Brethren International, Dunkard Brethren, Charis Fellowship (Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches), Old Brethren, Old Brethren German Baptist, Old German Baptist Brethren, Old German Baptist Brethren Church, New Conference, and Old Order German Baptist Church.
