Starting immediately, Michel Faulkner will be the new executive vice president of CE National.
Ed Lewis, president of CE National says, “Honor goes to the Lord for Michel’s willingness to serve as the executive vice president of CE National. I am excited that he will inspire us to follow Jesus and strengthen ties with other evangelical groups in order for churches to work together for spiritual renewal in America. We need to see believers live ON MISSION. Michel’s platform will be building present and future leaders, especially in the context of urban settings where the needs are so evident!”
Michel was a former NY Jets football player. He served as vice president at Liberty University under the late Dr. Jerry Falwell. For 35 years Michel served as a pastor and most recently as a Grace Brethren pastor in New York City at the New Horizon Church in Harlem.
Recently, Michel ran for mayor of New York City. While he did not win the election for city office, his platform was strong in being pro-life and for Christian values.
Michel shares his faith regularly and is a man of prayer. He and his wife Sarai love Jesus strongly. They have only been married a few years. Michel was married to his first wife, Virginia, for 31 years until her death in 2014. He has three grown children who all follow God and Sarai has one daughter who loves Jesus as well.
Sarai is Puerto Rican, born in Harlem, New York, and is fluent in French and Spanish. She has her doctorate in child psychology and works with children and youth facing AIDS. She is learning Arabic and has traveled several times to Lebanon with her heart for young girls. Sarai works with individuals who are HIV positive. When she was living in Atlanta, Ga., she was a faithful worker in the First Baptist Church ministries where Dr. Charles Stanley serves as pastor. Her heart is for training children to love and follow Jesus.
Michel will oversee the staff and vision of the urban initiatives of CE National including the Urban Hope Training Centers, interim pastor of Urban Hope Community Church, as well as the Studies in Urban Ministry program that is a joint venture between CE National and Grace College.
Michel will be attending Momentum Youth Conference and will be sharing at the CE National corporation meeting in Fremont, Ohio, this summer. He also hopes to soon visit Urban Hope Los Angeles and will stop to see the Operation Barnabas students who are currently on tour in California.
Michel loves Jesus and we are excited to see him join the ministries of CE National. For more information see Michel’s Wiki page.
