Grace College Men’s Golf in Third Place to Start NCCAA Nationals

PALM COAST, Fla. – Grace College’s men’s golf team put itself in prime position after the opening round of the NCCAA National Championships.

The Lancers combined to fire a 301 to place third in the nine-team field. Grace is just six strokes behind first place Erskine College, the defending NCCAA champions.

A pair of Lancers finished Monday’s round in the top 10. Noah Wright placed fourth out of 47 golfers with a round of 73.

Payton Kelly tied for 10th overall with a 75, and Camden Gongwer (76) and Jacob Abrahamson (77) were right behind Kelly.

Freshman Blake Lawson rounded out Grace’s performance with an 83 at the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort.

The tournament continues with 18 holes on Tuesday and the final round on Wednesday.
