Josh Henderson’s 5 TDs lead Grace Brethren past La Habra in thrilling semifinal
Grace Brethren’s high-powered offense and a game-winning touchdown helped the team advance to the championship round of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.
Grace Brethren traded touchdowns with La Habra all night, but a fourth-quarter rush by quarterback Mikey Zele with seconds left made the difference in a 49-45 win.
Josh Henderson led the Lancers with 264 yards and five touchdowns on 26 carries, while Ryan Zanelli led the Highlanders with 205 yards on 13-of-22 passing.
La Habra’s offense erupted for 28 points in the first quarter with the help of Kristopher Koontz’s two receiving touchdowns.
