Dates for 2020-2021 Focus Retreats Announced

Dates for upcoming Focus Retreats for ministry leaders in the Charis Fellowship have been announced.

The Central Focus Retreat will be held October 05 – 07, 2020, at Deer Creek Lodge Conference Center, 22300 State Park Road 20, Mt Sterling, OH 43143. It begins with a 3 p.m. registration on Monday, October 5 and concludes with a send-off late in the morning on Wednesday, October 7. Click here for more information.

The East Focus Retreat will be October 19 – 21, 2020, at Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Ocean City, 1701 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, MD 21842. Like the Central Retreat, it begins with a 3 p.m. registration on Monday afternoon, and concludes with a send-off late in the morning on Wednesday.

The retreats will be led by Phil Sparling, executive director of the Charis Fellowship and pastor of Auburn Grace Community Church, a Charis Fellowship congregation in Auburn, Calif. They will follow the theme of Biblical Relationships, centered around Ecclesiastes 4:12: ‘And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.’ 

Participants will be reminded of the benefits of strategic relationships with other leaders, churches, national ministries, and ethnic groups. “All of our church ministries have the common foundation of relationships,” says Phil. “How we give and receive from one another has never been more vital than it is today. Let’s come together and explore how we can take the next step in experiencing Biblical Relationships.”
Other retreats are scheduled as follows:
  • Southwest: January 25 – 27, 2021 at  Camp Lawrence Daley at Mt. Crags, 26801 Dorothy Dr. Calabasas, Calif.
  • South: March 08 – 10, 2021 at Florida FFA Leadership Training Center, Haines City, Fla.
  • Northwest: May 24 – 26, 2021, Camp Clearlake, 11660 Tieton Reservoir Rd., Naches, Wash.

Registration for the retreats in early 2021 will be available as the dates draw nearer.
