Word has been received in Winona Lake of the death yesterday (Sunday) afternoon of James Renick, former Grace College & Seminary faculty member and missionary to France.
According to word received from Dwight and Lois Baker: “This is to let you know that Jim Renick died peacefully this afternoon. Joyce said he just breathed slower and slower, and then he was gone. She and Lauri were with him at the time; James had also been with him a good bit during the previous week.
“Jim was receiving hospice care (within a nursing home), something that left him more relaxed and at peace than he had been.
“Tentative plans, to be confirmed, are for a private burial on Thursday and a memorial service on Saturday afternoon.”
A more complete obituary will be posted when it is available. His wife, the former Joyce Baker, can be reached at jbrenick@hotmail.com. Renick, who lived in eastern Pennsylvania, had declined over a period of many years from a variety of medical conditions and degenerative disease.
