You would be involved in…
- Developing the ministry skills of the Christ-followers of Valley Grace.
- Connecting the Valley Grace members and attenders to the church and one another.
- Creating and monitoring a system to help members and attenders see the importance and privilege of sharing their time and resources in the ministries of Valley Grace.
- Creating a culture and system to intentionally prioritize their lives to reach those who are lost—and Accurate, faithful communication of the truth of God’s Word.
Job Summary:
The Pastor of Discipleship and Ministry Development will play a vital role in partnering with the Lead Pastor to fulfill the mission and vision of Valley Grace.
The ideal candidate will be a servant leader with a strong biblical foundation, leadership and management abilities, experience at implementing ministry vision, a passion for discipleship and a strong desire to reach the Un-churched.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Vision Implementation: Partner with the Lead Pastor to execute the vision and strategic goals of the church.
- Leadership Development: Equip and mentor ministry leaders to grow spiritually and lead effectively.
- Ministry Oversight: Supervise key ministries and their leadership teams.
- Staff Collaboration: Work with church staff and ministry teams to ensure alignment with Valley Grace’s Vision across every facet of the ministry.
- Equip Ministry Workers: Coach ministry workers to impact both Christ-followers and the Un-churched within their spheres of influence.
- Preaching & Teaching: Based upon giftedness, desire and time availability preach and teach.

Qualifications:
- A clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by spiritual maturity and personal integrity
- Positive professional demeanor
- Competence in leadership, organizational development, and strategic implementation
- Agreement with the church’s statement of faith, mission, and vision
- Self-starter able to reach objectives without oversight
- Strong people and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry/theology (Preferred)

- Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, develop leaders, and implement strategies to advance ministry goals.
- Organizational Ability: Strong planning, coordination, implementation, oversight, and follow-through skills.
- Problem Solving: Able to navigate complex situations with wisdom, discernment, and grace.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; relatable and approachable style.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using church management software, presentation tools, and communication platforms.
Working Relationships:
- Partners with and reports to the Lead Pastor.
- Develops and collaborates with the pastoral staff and ministry leaders.
- Serves as a bridge between the leadership team and key ministries, helping to ensure alignment with church vision and culture.
