Purpose:
Seeking a candidate to oversee our Youth and Young Adults Ministry as a full-time position
Overview:
Penn Valley currently has a combined Jr. & Sr. High Youth program, as well as a developing Young Adults ministry. We are seeking an individual that has the heart, compassion, biblical knowledge, and leadership skills to continue to invest in the growth of these individuals, as well as the volunteer leadership. Our desire is to see our youth and young adults continue to grow as disciples and followers of Jesus Christ.
Expected Ministry Duties:
- Foster a culture of Christ-centered discipleship
- Lead sound biblical and theological teaching (weekly at youth group and young adults)
- Create activities and opportunities outside normal ministry nights to foster relationships, develop spiritual habits, service, and Christian character
- Develop short and long-term plans for the ministries
- Routinely engage, encourage, and support parents, individuals, and leaders of the ministries
- Meet regularly with pastors, staff, and ministry leaders
- Develop and disciple a strong volunteer base
- Encourage Prayer as well as Pray for and with those under your leadership
- Maintain clear and timely communication regarding the direction, events, and needs of the ministry
- Participate and support additional Church functions and ministries like: Sunday Services, Communion, Family Night, Sports Camp
- Conduct oneself in manner that reflects the spirit of Christ (as described in 1 Timothy 3.1-7)
- Coordinate and lead service projects/missions’ trip in conjunction with the associate pastor

Basic Qualifications
- Testimony of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and evidence of a Biblical lifestyle
- Agreement with Penn Valley’s Statement of Faith
- Support the Vision, Mission, and Values of Penn Valley Church
- Willingness to interact with individuals of all generations, showing patience, respect, and love for one’s neighbor
- Able to correctly handle the word of God for teaching, rebuking, encouraging, and strengthening others and oneself
- Capable of biblically resolving conflict
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information and discern when to seek counsel
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in general computer skills and ability to use common office equipment
- Submission of FBI criminal history, child abuse, and criminal background clearances
- A Bachelors degree in Christian ministry or Biblical studies from a reputable school
- 2-4 years of experience in a related field is preferred
