Haitian Earthquake Survivor to Speak to Los Altos School

Dec 5, 2010

Pastor Mike Jentes of the Los Altos (CA) Grace Brethren church, sends along the following announcement about the appearance of a celebrated Haitian earthquake survivor at the Los Altos Brethren School, which the church sponsors.

dan woolleyBack in January of this year, Haiti was rocked by a devastating earthquake.  In the middle of that tragedy, we tracked the amazing story of Dan Woolley who survived that earthquake in an elevator shaft of the Hotel Montana. Dan is the son of Mrs. Pat Woolley, our 6th grade teacher.

This Friday, Dan will be sharing in chapel with our Los Altos Brethren School students.  Principal Rick Lenger has invited our church family to be a part of this special chapel.

Chapel is in the auditorium starting promptly at 9:30am on Friday, December 10th. You are welcome to come and invite others as well.

In addition, Dan is in the process of publishing the story in a book called Unshaken: Rising from the Ruins of Haiti’s Hotel Montana. You can find out more about the book on Dan’s website
