Isaac attended Camp Conquest in Denver, Pa., for the first time this summer to spend a week serving alongside his dad, John. They attend Lehigh Valley Grace Brethren Church, a Charis Fellowship church in Bethlehem, Pa. (Larry Humberd, pastor). The two signed up as counselors for a group of 10-12 year old boys.
Sometimes a week of camp can alter the trajectory of our lives, according to Mike Gehlert, executive director. That is what happened to Isaac. You see, Isaac got to experience one of the greatest joys available this side of heaven. He prayed with a young boy as that boy asked Jesus to forgive his sins and be his savior.
With that experience filling his spirit, Isaac went the following week to Momentum Youth Conference where he felt the call of the Holy Spirit upon his life to go into full time Christian Ministry. From camp to conference to call. For Isaac, along with many others, God’s work in his life began at camp.
God worked in Isaac’s heart, but he also worked in the heart of the boy in Isaac cabin group. This is evangelism and discipleship in the camp setting. And you can be part of the story. You can be part of the impact.
Camp Conquest is participating in the Extra Ordinary Give on November 16, 2018.
