Cody Coughlin Reads to Students at his Former Elementary School

Cody Coughlin took some time from his busy schedule on Thursday to read to more than 200 students at Worthington Christian Elementary School in Worthington, Ohio, his former elementary school.

The Joe Gibbs Racing Development driver visited his alma mater to take part in their “Celebrate Reading Week.” Coughlin talked to the students about the importance of reading, their faith and going after their dreams.  He also signed autographs, handed out JEGS hats and answered questions for more than two hours.

“It was a cool experience to go back to Worthington Christian Elementary to visit with the students today,” expressed Coughlin.  “The kids asked some great questions and it was cool share my faith and success with them.  Hopefully I could provide them with a little motivation and some ideas for their future endeavors.”

The students are studying the books written by Dr. Seuss. Coughlin read the classic, “My Many Colored Days” to the students.

“The students were so excited and thrilled to meet Cody and have him read to them,” said Robin Hooper, a Second Grade Teacher at Worthington Christian Elementary school.  “What a wonderful day for our Celebrate Reading Week.  We enjoyed having Cody back at WCES and meeting his newest fans.”
