It’s been three weeks since the town of Indian Lake, Ohio, was hit by an EF2 tornado on the evening of March 14, 2024. Weather reports say the tornado was on the ground for about 45 minutes, reaching a maximum speed of 155 mph with a mile-wide path. There were three fatalities, dozens of injuries, and numerous homes and businesses damaged or destroyed. Read more about the storm in a local news outlet here and here. One of our Charis Fellowship churches, Grace Church Lake Campus (a church plant from Bellefontaine Grace Church), serves this community.
Todd Derry, working on behalf of Charis Fellowship Disaster Response, is helping to coordinate relief efforts. Todd said, “Grace churches in the immediate area have been working tirelessly to support the community. These include Bellefontaine Grace, Bellefontaine Lake Campus, and Marysville Grace. There have been individuals coming from other Central Ohio churches to help where they can.” Both Bellefontaine Grace and Marysville Grace have been collecting, storing, and transporting needed items such as clothes, generators, water, and food.
