Saturday morning, Grace College professors Dr. Don DeYoung and Dr. Nate Bosch taught a power tract for students called “The Bible in the Space Age.” July 20, the last day of Momentum, they took turns educating the students on the solar system and how it reveals God in it’s complexity and diversity.
Dr. DeYoung, though retired, teaches at Grace College and Seminary and has authored several books, including “Astronomy and the Bible.” Dr. Bosch is the director of the Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams at Grace College and is an associate professor of environmental science.

Dr. DeYoung introduced Genesis 1:16 as the basis for the discussion. He went on to explain how each part of the solar system, the sun, the moon, and the stars, impact human and animal life. Dr. Bosch gave specific examples in nature that show how God orchestrated the world. The world is “in concert,” Dr. DeYoung said.
The professors finished by explaining how the students could handle a discussion with someone who disagrees with the Christian world-view of creation. Dr. DeYoung referenced to the theme verse of the conference, 1 Peter 3:15. “Treat people with respect,” he said.
