The first 20 participants of the 412 Commission will be graduating this weekend. Akron, Ohio, graduation will be at the Norton South Campus on Friday, May 12 at 7:00 pm.
The Sebring graduation will take place at the Sebring, Florida, Grace Brethren Church on Sunday, May 14 at 6:00 pm. All students will be leaving for two-month internships and will conclude their ministries on July 16.
The 412 Commission program for young adults, a ministry of CE National, is a year-long commitment to engage the Word of God and learn to minister effectively in real environments. The goal of 412 is to offer evangelical students a long-term ministry experience to equip them for serving Christ, for making a difference in their world.
A main component of this program is Bible study and memorization of Scripture. Students learn from experienced teachers and pastors in a classroom environment. Their knowledge is then strengthened through discussion with other believers.
Students are trained in the ACTS strategy of church-planting: contact discovery, process-evangelism and discipleship, leading to the formation of Bible studies.
In addition students will actively minister in a variety of local church and community opportunities. The objective is to learn, affirm, discuss and get experience in various areas of ministry with the goal of contact-making for evangelism.
Students investigate and participate in a variety of ministry settings in the local church, nursing homes, rescue missions, recovery groups, pro-life centers, and schools.
During the students’ time in the 412 program, they participate in local ministry, an urban ministry tour, foreign missions, and a trip to the Holy Land.
Following the initial 412 training, all students participate in a two-month internship in an area of his or her interest.
Moody Bible Institute offers college credits to those who have completed 412.
