UPDATE: Open heart surgery for Glen Sykes is scheduled for today (May 21) at 8:30 a.m. Pacific time.
Glen Sykes, pastor of Grace Brethren Church, San Diego, Calif., is reporting that he will have open heart surgery on Tuesday. He has been hospitalized in Visalia, Calif., since late last week following an episode while attending family camp in the mountains. Here is his message, shared with his permission:
The official verdict is here. I will be having open heart surgery in the morning tomorrow. they feel that by placing the stent they will cause other problems for later and if clogs they will not be able to do surgery at that point. I therefore will be in Visalia for a week or two following surgery. Praying for a speedy recovery after the surgery.
