Goshen Church Steps In to Help Local Organization

One Grace Brethren congregation is helping a local youth organization as the organization renovates its building. The Goshen (Ind.) Boys and Girls Club is set to begin a major expansion and while its facilities are undergoing construction, Grace Community Church (Jim Brown, senior pastor), will step in to help. Massive expansion of Goshen Boys and Girls Club to kick off in June

GOSHEN — The members of Boys and Girls Club of Goshen will be nomads in June when construction begins on the expansion project for the Goshen facility.

“We are bursting at the seams,” said Kevin Deary, president and chief executive officer of Boys and Girls Clubs of Elkhart County.

During the expansion project Grace Community Church in Goshen and Goshen Community Schools will host some of the services for the children.

“I am grateful to Grace Community Church for opening their doors to us,” Deary said, “and we’re proud to be in partnership with Diane (Woodworth, Superintendent) and Goshen Community Schools. They have a great impact on children in a positive way.”

Goshen Boys & Girls Club: ‘We need to grow to meet the need in our community’

GOSHEN – Work is set to start next summer on a major expansion of the Goshen Boys and Girls Club.

The $5-million project will increase the space by 60-percent.

The expansion will begin in June and is expected to be complete by March of 2017. Taking the facility from 32,000 to 51,000 square ft. …

“We can do an even better job with a bigger facility and I think that’s why we are really excited. We know how many kids we serve and we know how many kids we can serve in a better capacity, in the future,” said Area Director, Clarence Thomas.

Once the project starts, the club will work with Grace Community Church and Goshen schools to relocate its services during construction.
