This past weekend 757 people from 17 churches (13 of them Grace Brethren) combined together for the Unplug Retreat at the Kalahari Conference Center in Sandusky, Ohio. This was the fifth year for the conference and it continues to grow each year.
This year’s speaker was Jeff Bogue, pastor of Grace Church in Akron, Ohio. Jeff spoke on what living for Jesus looks like and how God can use pain to mature us. He ended his time Saturday by encouraging students to be ambassadors for Christ.
Former NFL player and three-time Super Bowl champ Je’rod Cherry spoke Sunday and encouraged students to center their lives on Christ by using his testimony as an example. Je’rod told his life story and humbly said his life was not always focused on God and he had been left wondering what his life was building toward. He encouraged students to do everything as worship to God.
Worship for the weekend was led by Exodus. They are one of four campus bands from Liberty University and highlighted the sessions with high-energy sets.
