Jul 24, 2016

A celebration of 20 years of the Grace Brethren movement in Canada highlighted Saturday’s sessions at Margins|2016, the national conference of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. Bartley Sawatsky, church planter and pastor of Renew Church in Mississauga, Ontario, and executive director of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, opened Saturday morning’s celebration with a talk on Life in the Margins.

A panel of those who were instrumental in the beginning of the Grace Brethren movement in Canada reminisced about some of the details.

Caesar Kalinowski shared about “The Margins May Be Closer Than you Think.”

The day started with a celebration of 50 years of the ministries of CE National during the CE Breakfast and corporation meeting. Lunch was sponsored by Encompass World Partners and included an introduction of new missionary appointees. Grace College and Seminary provided news of increased enrollment, a new science center, and other developments on campus during their dinner and corporation meeting.

Neil Cole, Grace Brethren pastor and church planter, challenged the conference at the evening celebration on “We Were Made for the Margins.”

“If we want to reach this generation, we’re going to have to start multiplying,” he said as he encouraged the conference to become disciples who create disciples.

The day ended with a City Stroll for young leaders.
