Faustin-Archange Touadera was sworn in as the president of the Central African Republic this week. “This is the start of something new!” commented Jim Hocking, founder of Water for Good who grew up in C.A.R.
Hocking believes this may be the first time that a leader has been elected in the country that has not been connected to the military in any way. He said that he has met with Touadera for Bible study and knows that the Baptist missionaries recently visited the president-elect in his home. Touadera is known to be a man of integrity and faith. “Pray that he will be able to withstand temptation and will continue to show integrity,” added Hocking.
