Northwest District Conference Postponed

Mar 13, 2020

Northwest District Conference, scheduled for later this month in Goldendale, Wash., has been postponed. Below is the message sent by the host pastor, Dr. Greg Howell, to district pastors, which includes congregations in Washington State and western Canada.

It seems best in light of the travel restrictions and health concerns to postpone District Conference. In consultation with Pastor Isaac Whiting, pastor of our church in Surrey, BC, and Dr. Don DeYoung, our keynote speaker, we feel that safety is best served by not meeting March 20-21 in Goldendale.

You may have heard that British Columbia has issued a travel advisory stating that Canadian citizens traveling outside of Canada and especially visiting the USA would be instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days upon their reentry to Canada.

We will be looking at fall dates to reschedule the conference in Goldendale. In the meantime, I am calling an Executive Council meeting to determine how to care for some decisions that were needing to be made at Conference; budgets and ballots, etc. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. Please be sure to notify the motel if you had reservations. They may be able to credit you for future use if they were non-refundable.

The Goldendale folks, especially our host homes, are disappointed that we will not be able to serve you in March, but will look forward to getting together later.
