Troy McIntosh, head of Worthington Christian Schools, which is a ministry of Grace Polaris Church on the north side of Columbus, Ohio (Mike Yoder, lead pastor), is quoted in an article in the new online magazine, Westerville 365. The article, “Leveraging the Limelight,” feature’s Ohio’s first lady, Karen Kasich. In it she talks about the decision of she and her husband, Governor John Kasich, to have their daughters attend Worthington Christian Schools. “She says she wanted their twin daughters, Emma and Reese, now 15, to continue leading as normal a life as possible. ‘They feel less like the governor’s children and more like neighbors in Westerville,’ she says. … The girls have attended Worthington Christian Schools since preschool. Kasich says they wanted their children to go to school in a Christian environment. …”
The articles quotes McIntosh as saying the Kasichs have been a welcome addition to the Warrior family. “He says the first lady drops off and picks up her children just like everyone else — with a little extra security provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.”
“‘It can be a little intimidating for teachers to have the governor’s kids in (their) classes, but what I’ve told them is … they’re just regular parents,’ he says. ‘They’re parents who love their kids.'” …
