Team Atlantic – PONDerosa – June 27
Sitting in the smell of his own smokey, post-fire musk, the unnamed Team Atlantic blog writer rubbed his eyes. Tiredly, the blog writer attempted to recall the day’s activities. After successfully doing so, he wrote this blog.
It’s was a long day. It was a hard day. But it was a good day.
Today was a significant turning point for students on Team Atlantic. Today’s activities forced students to come together and own their team. The day involved a classic OB tradition with a new twist, a unique park program, and a waterside outing with Palmyra GBC’s youth group.
The day started with host families dropping students off at the church. After spending some time with the Lord, students were loaded onto the bus. The bus traveled to the local Walmart, where students were given a dollar to collectively spend on their breakfast. The team was given fifteen minutes inside the store before being brought back to the church, where they prepared and ate the breakfast. The resourceful breakfast consisted of waffles, eggs, toast, and -an always breakfast favorite- Ramen Noodles.
After this time, Jessie led in a character trait lesson on Loving Others. This led into a team time sans leaders where the students were able to debrief about their morning experiences and how they should work together through the rest of tour. Following lunch, students were given the responsibility of writing a park program for later in the afternoon.

Team Hoosier Day 6: Seeking a Heart for the Lost
Another day has gone by for the Hoosier Team! We started out our day in God’s word, and then met to hear what our day had in store for us. We split into 4 different groups, and each student was given a specific task on each job. The first group went to a local church member’s house of Leesburg to re-do a garden. The second group went to another church member’s house to mulch the property. The third group went to help a local business, and the third group went to a book club in a local trailer park community with Pastor Tim. After each group finished up we packed up our stuff and headed to lunch.
After lunch we head to a homeless shelter called Fellowship Missions lead by JR Gray. We cleaned, organized, and washed toys for almost 3 hours to help the staff and volunteers. Watching kids like Grant Ostermeyer and Andrew Carpenter lead an organization team to clean out a food pantry (which btw looks AMAZING) was very encouraging seeing true leadership come out of them.
