This week we are profiling Grace Church of Orange, a Grace Brethren church that was founded in 1967.
It has three Sunday morning worship services, as well as weekly multigenerational groups that meet in homes throughout the community.
Name of congregation leader: Mike Sciarra has served as the senior pastor since 2006. Doug Roller, Brian Zuniga and Alex Valencia are the associate pastors.
Core concepts: “We’re a multigenerational group of people from various backgrounds who are united in our common love for Jesus Christ,” says Sciarra on the church’s website. “We believe the Christian life is to be lived joyfully at home, as a church and in our community.” Grace Church’s mission is “to worship God, build up believers and reach others for Christ.”
Service times: 8:15, 9:45 and 11:15 a.m. Sundays
Activities/groups: Grace Church offers various ministries, including the Awana kids program, a junior high group – which meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays – and a high school group that meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. There are also separate men’s and women’s ministries, family ministries and a college and career group.
