Local Community Celebrates National Day Of Prayer
WINONA LAKE – The community came together Thursday to pray and celebrate National Day Of Prayer.
The prayer was at the Winona Heritage Room, Winona Lake, and the theme was “Wake Up, America.”
Attendees had the opportunity to break up into groups and pray.
Ken Locke, Warsaw Ministerial Association, welcomed attendees. The national anthem and Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Optimist Singers.
Dr. Roger Peugh was the keynote speaker and spoke about the importance of prayer.
“Jesus constantly prayed without ceasing to pray. Prayerlessness is our declaration of independence from God,” Peugh said.
Peugh said the Apostles asked Jesus to teach them how to pray because they saw he had a different type of prayer life than they had.
Peugh said there needs to be continuous prayer.
