Prayer Requested for Glen Sykes

May 20, 2019

Glen Sykes

Prayer is requested for Glen Sykes, pastor of the Grace Brethren Church in San Diego, Calif. He is currently in the hospital in Visalia, Calif., after experiencing shortness of breath while at a camp nearby. Here’s a report this morning from Glen (and shared with his permission):

We were up in the mountains at Christian family Camp last week. Wednesday I became very short of breath and my oxygen saturation level dropped. I was taken to a cardiac Care ER in Visalia, Calif. I have a 95 to 96 percent blockage of one of the two main arteries to the heart. I’m having an angiogram today to try and place a new stent because the previous stent failed. That is unsuccessful I will need to have open heart surgery. The doctors are uncomfortable sending me home without it being fixed as I am six hours from home and have to travel over the mountain pass.

Glen does not know how long he’ll be in the hospital. If the angiogram today is successful, he expects to go home to tomorrow. If surgery is required, recovery will be much longer. His wife, Cora, is in Visalia with him.

Cards may be sent to their home address, 7945-C Hummingbird Lane San Diego, CA 92123.
