Randy Weekley, pastor of the Grace Brethren Church of Pinellas Park, Fla. (St. Petersburg area), underwent surgery on Monday to have his left leg removed after suffering from villonodular synovitis. Below is a report from his son-in-law, Wade Rininger:
The doctors are still working on pain management, he is still under a lot of pain and they are trying to make his healing process more comfortable. There are a few options for rehab and when he can go home. We are praying that he is able to go straight from where he is now to a rehab unit in the same building. This would allow things to transition smoothly and he could stay there to rehab for a good amount of time (prayer is that he would come home from that rehab stop).
The recovery road is going to be hard but Pastor Randy is staying strong and is keeping a great testimony. I’m sure he would want me to ask you all to pray for the nurses, doctors, therapists, and other patients and that he will have a chance to share the love of Christ with them.
