Bartley Sawatsky, executive director of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches and pastor of Grace Community Church in Mississauga, Ontario, has issued a call to pray on behalf of the Grace Brethren churches and people in the Central African Republic. In an email sent to all those who are included in the FGBC Handbook, he said:
Our global movement of churches has long been blessed by a vibrant gospel church planting movement in the Central African Republic. Today that movement has produced thousands of churches and hundreds of thousands of brothers and sisters in Christ.
However, our brothers and sisters are in danger. Recent political, economic and military realities in that country have created a life threatening environment. Even though C.A.R. is usually forgotten by our news outlets we cannot ignore what is happening.
In the coming weeks and months, Barb Wooler will announce a number of opportunities for us to engage. Here is the first announcement:
Let’s all set aside Monday, January 20, as a day for intercessory prayer for peace in the CAR. Will you join me?
And stay tuned for more announcements.
