Apr 11, 2018

Scott Blum has coached women’s basketball at Grace College for 14 years.

Scott Blum, head coach of Grace College’s women’s basketball team,  announced Tuesday that he has resigned.

Blum amassed 189 victories over his 14-year career at Grace and had an overall record of 189-268. The Lady Lancers achieved their first pair of 20-win seasons under Blum’s tenure, including this season’s 20-16 campaign.

“I appreciate all that Scott has invested during his time as the head women’s basketball coach at Grace,” said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. “We are thankful for his impact on the program, campus, and community. We wish him all the best with his future endeavors.”

Blum’s recruits rewrote the record books for Grace. Three of the top five scorers in program history were recruited by Blum, including the No. 1 and No. 2 career scorers.

He guided the Lady Lancers to nine NCCAA National Championships, highlighted by a third-place finish in 2011-12.

Grace will start a national coaching search immediately. — from gclancers.com
