Grace Brethren ready to make a statement after winning another CIF football title
The red-hot Grace Brethren High football program now plays with escalated stakes.
Two consecutive CIF-Southern Section championships — including last week’s Division 4 crown via a 26-14 victory over Corona del Mar — and one state runner-up berth isn’t enough for the Lancers, coach Josh Henderson says.
Grace Brethren (12-2) now has its sights set on the program’s first CIF-State Bowl Championship.
“We do,” Henderson said. “Winning a Southern Section championship is a big, big deal for us and a great achievement. But once the state playoffs come into the picture, it becomes the biggest goal for us. We want to win a state championship.”
