Under the direction of Florida-based Hispanic church planter Jesus Munoz, the Spanish translation is now complete of “Restoring the Household: The Quest of the Grace Brethren Church” by the late Todd Scoles.
This history of the background and development of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches was published in 2008 by BMH Books of Winona Lake. Its author, Todd Scoles, served as administrative pastor in several of our leading Grace Brethren churches and was a board member and board chair of the Brethren Missionary Herald Company at the time of his sudden death in October of 2010.
It was Scoles’ vision to see the book, which was fashioned from his doctoral dissertation, translated into Spanish for use by Hispanic churches in North and South America. The Grace Brethren Investment Foundation, headed by Dr. Larry Chamberlain and Ken Seyfert, generously funded the translation with a grant.
The translation is now complete, and funds are being raised for the typesetting and proofing, printing and binding of the book, which is 279 pages in English and will be about one-third longer in Spanish.
Tax-deductible gifts for this project, with checks made payable to Brethren Missionary Herald Co., may be sent to BMH, P.O. Box 544, Winona Lake, Indiana 46590. Approximately $5,000 is needed to complete the project, and a special offering for this project will be taken at the BMH corporation meeting on Saturday, July 23, at the Grace Brethren national conference in Wooster, Ohio.
Thank you for considering this unique opportunity both to honor one of God’s choice servants, Todd Scoles, and also to put a valuable resource in the hands of our Spanish-speaking Brethren.
