Teel, Hill Grab Player of the Week Recognition

Aug 23, 2018

After its first weekend of competition, Grace’s volleyball team picked up two Player of the Week awards.

Caylie Teel was named the Crossroads League Attacker of the Week, and Alexa Hill was the league’s Setter of the Week to kick off the 2018 season.

Teel was a double-double machine for Grace last week, recording a double-double (kills and digs) in three of Grace’s four matches. She averaged 2.6 kills and 2.9 digs per set while Grace went 3-1 at the Huntington Invitational.

Her 12 kills and 14 digs led Grace to a 3-1 upset of No. 16 Cornerstone, capped off by multiple key kills in the final set.

Hill produced 178 assists in a strong weekend, earning All-Tournament Team recognition. She had 46 helpers in a four-set upset of No. 16 Cornerstone.

Defensively, Hill added 1.3 digs/set along with 7 kills and 2 aces on the week.

The Lady Lancers are home this weekend for the first time. Grace will host the seven-team Lancer Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.
