Thank You, Pastor
October is Pastor Appreciation Month. The Charis Fellowship would not exist if not for the hundreds of pastors who shepherd our churches week in and week out. We are grateful for their leadership in our local congregations, national Fellowship, and global family. Their sacrificial care and love for God’s people and their commitment to right preaching of God’s Word has impacted thousands for the Gospel.
Thank you, Pastor, for sharing your knowledge and understanding. The way you pursue God and prioritize your relationship with Him is evident in your preaching and teaching.
“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15
Thank you, Pastor, for valuing God’s Word. Your trust in the authority of Scripture sets the tone for the life and ministry of our church.
“He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.” Titus 1:9
Thank you, Pastor, for watching over our souls. Your joyful service in the life of our church family let us know you see us and care for us.
“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” Hebrews 13:17
Thank you, Pastor, for following the example of the great Shepherd in how you care for others. You set an example for us in how you love your family, lead your congregation, and live your life for the glory of God.
“Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.” 1 Peter 5:2,3
Thank you, Pastor, for bearing the weight of responsibility in teaching God’s Word. We are made better through your faithful obedience.
“Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.” James 3:1
Thank you, Pastor, for the many ways you provide oversight to our church. Your vision for ministry guides us as we gather as a family.
“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which He obtained with His own blood.” Acts 20:28
Thank you, Pastor, for having a faith worthy of imitation. Your love for God’s Word impacts us both corporately and individually.
“Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the Word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” Hebrews 13:7
Take a moment to thank God for your pastor and to pray over him:
“For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His great might that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.” Ephesians 1:15–21
