Total Grace Church, a Grace Brethren congregation in Toledo, Ohio, is marking its 30th anniversary this month. A special celebration, including dinner, will be held from 12 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 29, at the Radisson Hotel, 3100 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43614. Betty Miller, wife of Pastor W. Ray Miller, shared some of the history of the congregation, included below.
Pastor W. Ray Miller’s experience growing up in the inner city of Akron, Ohio made him keenly aware of the problems of urban life. This gave him a deep desire to reach out to others to offer help, friendship, and most importantly, offer God’s love.
In 1985, Ray and his wife, Betty, helped start the Toledo Grace Brethren Church where he became the pastor. This church is dedicated to living and sharing the truth of God’s Word and seeing that the truth make a difference in the lives of the people of Toledo.
The church is in the process of becoming known as Total Grace—a name that came about after attending the 2013 National Conference in Atlanta–a name that we have grown into over the last thirty years because the Lord has helped us to understand the meaning of grace. From our infant beginnings on a prominent street in Toledo to our present location on Central Avenue, God has demonstrated His grace to us and the people we’ve encountered over and over again.
Total Grace and Pastor W. Ray Miller will be celebrating, by the grace of God, its 30th anniversary of ministry to the city of Toledo. Pastor Ray would like to thank everyone of our greater Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches for their support and encouragement over the last 30 years. In honor of this milestone the church will host its annual March Gladness with special celebrations throughout the month of March. Each Sunday will hold nuggets of Toledo GBC now and then.
