Hal Avey, father of Tom Avey, coordinator for the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, died this morning in his sleep. He is now in the presence of Jesus who he served for decades in churches on Long Island and in the Orlando area. Hal was a veteran of World War II, serving on PT boats in the South Pacific. He was also an avid model railroader. Hal is survived by his wife, Carol, and children, Tom and Barbara; daughter-in-law, Sandra; four grandchildren; and six great-grand children.
