Updates from Assist Church Expansion
Dec 17, 2021
Assist Church Expansion is a national ministry of the Charis Fellowship. They serve churches within the Fellowship through planting, expanding, and revitalizing. Below are updates from a recent newsletter.
This year we have seen God work in so many ways. As we approach our fifth birthday in May, we are amazed at all that God has chosen to have us be a part of. We are currently working with five church plants, 20 revitalization/restart churches, four vision refresh churches, and are engaged with five churches who are potential “adoptions” into our Charis Fellowship family.
Speaking of adoptions, a church we have been working with in Johnstown, Pa., from outside our family voted this Sunday to join the Charis Fellowship.
This weekend was the grand opening of Contrast Church, a Charis Fellowship church plant in Grandview, Ohio (Trey Gilmore, launching pastor).
In September, we celebrated with Pataskala Grace Church, a Charis Fellowship congregation in Pataskala, Ohio (Tim Wilmetti, lead pastor), and their successful relaunch into the community after a three year revitalization partnership. We hear of good growth in this past few months from Grace Church, a Charis Fellowship congregation in Aiken, S. C. (Shannon Hollinger, lead pastor), and the team there is making great progress.
So much is happening across the U.S. and Canada — exciting things and some very difficult circumstances, too. Because of your prayers and support, we have been able to invest ourselves in ministry and walk with churches, districts, and leaders for a New Day.
Many of you joined us at our New Day Banquets and joined in partnering with us both in prayer and with giving. We were so encouraged by the generosity of those who gave at the banquets and those who matched those funds so those acts of faith and sacrifice could be doubled!
