Warsaw Christian Looking for 50-Year Memories

Oct 1, 2007

Warsaw (IN) Christian School is fast approaching its 50th anniversary and is looking for input from former students, faculty, and school families.

An e-note from the school asks, “Are you an adult alumni of WCS? Former faculty, staff or board member? We’d like to get in touch with you so please email us your current information to: bhartwiger@warsawchristian.org “

Community Grace Brethren Church, the school’s founding sponsor, began a Christian elementary school in 1958 with just forty students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Today, the school offers a program for Preschool through 6th grade, fully accredited through the Association of Christian Schools, International. The school is housed in two buildings on approximately seven acres.

Since its humble beginnings the school has been characterized by high standards spiritually, morally, and academically, with a philosophy that is based on the biblical concept to train children to love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.

The heart of any school is found in the school’s faculty and staff. God has called the faculty at WCS to partner with parents in the ministry of teaching children. WCS’s teachers are highly qualified by means of education, successful teaching experience and appropriate certification.

Over 50% hold advanced degrees in education. The average tenure of teachers has consistently varied between eleven and twelve years. This longevity provides stability and continuity to the teaching process. Their dedication to Christ, coupled with their passion to teach His truth, serve as positive role models to children. Well-equipped classrooms and low teacher to student ratios give the child the best possible learning environment.

Biblical integration is first seen as a child enters Noah’s Ark Preschool, the early childhood department of Warsaw Christian School. This nationally accredited program offers a child-centered curriculum based on a Christian foundation of love for three and four years olds.

The program provides a readiness curriculum for entrance into Kindergarten. Through planned activities, the child is introduced to the things of God, discovering Him as a real and vital part of his young life.
