Worthington Christian High School Team Honored by Ohio Senate

The Worthington Christian High School Divition III champions were recognized by the Ohio Senate recently. They are, left to right, Ben Evans, Will Evans, Jake Hoheisel, Cole Brooks, Blake Lawson, Tyler Jones, and Coach Zac Hess.

The Worthington Christian High School boys golf team was recognized on November 15, 2017, on the floor of the Ohio Senate after winning their first DIII state championship in the history of the school. Senator Stephanie Kunze read the resolution.

The tournament was played over Oct 12-13, 2017 at the Ohio State University Scarlet golf course. Zac Hess, a pastor at Grace Polaris Church, is the coach. The school is a ministry of Grace Polaris Church, a Charis Fellowship congregation on the north side of Columbus, Ohio.

The team’s first-day score of 306 was a single day record for DIII Boys golf in Ohio.  They finished 17 strokes better than the runner-up after two days.
