Approximately thirty 4:12 Commission participants and their sponsors/instructors visited the Brethren Missionary Herald offices today at noon for a briefing on BMH’s ministry, followed by pizza in the conference room.
Accompanied by Ed Lewis and Lois Maxson of CE National and Ryan and Lori Rodeman from the Akron campus, the students are beginning their second week of a two-week orientation session in Winona Lake, IN, before taking up studies in their respective 4:12 locations in Akron, Ohio, and Sebring, Florida.
Tonight the group will have a picnic at Grace Brethren Investment Foundation and will hear a presentation by Kurt Miller on evangelism and church planting. Tomorrow continues the ACTS strategy training with Dave Guiles, and contact-making in a local trailer park. Dr. David Plaster and Tom Avey will address them tomorrow night on “Who Are the Grace Brethren People?”
Training continues through Sunday, and concludes with a cookout at the Winona Lake park after a commissioning service at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. Jeff Bogue is the national director for 4:12, a one-year intensive Bible study and practical application experience, and Dr. Randy Smith is providing much of the instruction.
